Injuries prevented me from being as active as I was. What I was doing before wasn't working as I aged. So, I turned to the keto diet for help. Keto has helped me stay at a weigh pretty close to my "dancing days."

I'm Michelle Borthwick ( sometimes known as Michelle Keto)  and my work lies (way) outside the standard one-size-fits-all Keto you find on "Google Coach".  

I tend to work with "women of a certain age".  Women who have some life behind them.  Women who believe that  giving up on how they look isn’t an option.  Women who know age is just a number.  Women who tend to live by their own set of rules.

My comprehensive program includes  diet hacks,  private coaching sessions, expert tips and accountability. It addresses: activity level, age, hormones, lab work, lifestyle, palate, food cravings, health, sociability, motivation, mindset and more.

I’m the proud founder and CEO of Keto is Easy Coach where my specialty is (way) outside the standard Keto world. Most commonly referred to as the Keto weight loss "stall buster," my propriety customization approach and nuanced application creates a permanent Keto lifestyle that is effective, easy and sustainable.

Before I began my own Keto journey, I owned a successful marketing and branding agency, where the demands of my business life led to my being overweight and dealing with multiple health challenges.  Every day left me depleted of energy, suffering with Gerd, plantar fasciitis, migraine headaches, severe brain fog and prediabetes. (in a glamour focused business that required tireless hours, endless creativity and spunk…of which I had none).

I honestly found Keto because I was desperate to save my life…and I haven't looked back.   Fast forward… I’ve lost 37 pounds, reversed prediabetes and all my health problems are gone!

I’m now living my passion as a full-time Keto coach to serve and inspire other women to get their life back, get healthy, find hope, and lose that last bit of stubborn weight.   I tend to work with "women of a certain age".  Women who have some life behind them. Cheryl is the founder and editor of Heal Nourish Grow, an ultimate wellness, healthy lifestyle and advanced nutrition site. She helps others develop the confidence and habits to create lasting change and greater health by sharing her wealth of knowledge and over 25 years of experience in psychology, addictions studies, fitness, nutrition, yoga, health and wellness. 

Coaching others to reach their personal version of ultimate wellness is her passion.

Cheryl came to low carb and keto in 2016 after a particularly difficult time in her life in which she was gaining weight, not sleeping well and overly stressed, despite lots of healthy behaviors. 

Once she began low carb, there was a huge shift in her health and outlook. Not only did she lose the weight she gained, but long term anxiety, depression, sleep and brain fog greatly improved.

I first began educating myself regarding Keto Adaptation when my Mother was diagnosed with a terminal Glioblastoma Multiforme brain tumor.The prognosis was 6 months to live. This prompted me to take an aggressive approach to learn ways to slow cancer growth. I dramatically lowered her carbohydrate intake and raised her dietary fats exponentially. Immediately my mother’s cancer growth stopped. She is now in her 7th year of being cancer free.

After my Mother’s cancer remission from a low carb and high fat diet prescription, I began to apply the Nutritional Ketosis principles on myself. With success I was able to enter and maintain Ketosis and enjoyed incredible health improvements.

After experiencing the incredible benefits of Ketosis myself, I applied these low carb and high fat principles on my closest friends. The success stories of better health continued in people around me. My next approach was my personal training clients. In a 2 year time period I was able to Keto coach 8 subjects with 100% improvement in their weight loss and health goals.

Today I have Keto coached thousands of clients with amazing results. Initially I set up a live consultation with each individual. Together we determine what their goals are in trying to Keto Adapt, and discuss all prior health issues, diets and attempts to Keto Adapt on their own. The MOST important concept I teach to clients is what a pivotal role stress plays in one’s ability to Keto Adapt.

I have been able to collect and study Keto Adaptation failures and successes in my ongoing Keto Coaching and Research practices. I continue to spread the word to people of all ages, ethnic backgrounds, gender and moral principles on the benefits of Ketosis. My initial interest in eating “the ketogenic way” was peaked a year later when Dr Dale Bredesen wrote about the success of applying a low-carb high-fat eating style with intermittent fasting as a way to reverse or at least slow the onslaught of Alzheimer’s disease. I got my first degree in 2008, which was in psychology from UW-Eau Claire. Then in 2015, I completed my Human Biology degree with an emphasis in Nutrition from UW-Green Bay.

In August of 2017, I became a Nutrition and Dietetic Technician, Registered. This title allows me to work with people in showing them the relationship between food and health.

While on my own journey to better health, I learned that I felt best with the fewest carbs possible and having more fat in my diet. That's where my journey to keto began. My fibromyalgia has improved, which has been one of the biggest benefits. A few other benefits I have experienced is that I’m not constantly thinking about when I can eat next and that I have more energy as well.

In August 2019, I started my Ketogenic lifestyle. I began my journey very unsure, but quickly learned how great this lifestyle really was. I then created a self-accountability Instagram page using the name Keto4thesoul_. This was a page that I purposely did not share with close friends or family due to dealing with self-shame. In fear of accountability.

Once the weight started coming off and my mind set started shifting, I started feeling more comfortable. Soon everyone started asking “What are you doing, and how do I start!” I then started K4TS Facebook support group. This group not only helped others but once again it helped hold me accountable. I began posting daily and truly found a passion for helping others become healthy, mentally and physically.

Fast forward to December 2020. I got invited to a new social media platform, Clubhouse. I immediately went searching for any clubs pertaining to keto and there were NONE!! I was shocked. I decided to put myself out there and applied for my own club. Keto 4 The Soul was approved January 2021. I soon learned that this was in fact the very first keto support club! I quickly started meeting like-minded people and the rest is history!
